As politicians and the electorate are still coming to terms with the expenses scandal, both in the British mainland political system and here in Ireland (North and South), there has to be an opportunity to follow up on this.
Calling a spade a spade, it is common knowledge that political corruption is endemic worldwide. The shenanigans that went on, and are on-going, have to end, otherwise anarchy will rule and the most ridiculed word in the dictionary - democracy - will become extinct.
One brave British editor and his newspaper has lead the way. It's up to the rest of the media to follow by harassing, naming and shaming those who they believe are abusing the system and the trust that they got elected on - at the same time, giving credit to those whom they believe are earning their living honestly and fulfiling their pledges to the electorate.
