Nations should form federation of Ireland

Why don't people in the north and south of Ireland form a federative republic of Ireland and stay in the EU?

I write to you from Norway. I graduated in Irish history and literature in 1981, but did not get to visit Ireland until last Easter.

As England now wants to go backwards into the future by Brexit and pretend they are still ruling the waves and their once-upon-a-time empire, it seems to me that the UK ought to break up.

Scotland ought to break loose from England and stay in the EU.

Wales will surely hang on to England, but I hope we will see FRI (the Federative Republic of Ireland) as a part of the EU.

If you do, I hope you will award me with honorary citizenship of FRI, as a reward for having this idea.
