New organ bill is the right way forward for all
I would like to congratulate Alastair Ross MLA for his Private Member's Bill proposing organ donation registration through driving licences. Such a measure can only increase the amount of successful organ transplants in Northern Ireland, while maintaining the liberty to decide what to do with your own body.
It is sadly ironic that the most aggressive opposition to Mr Ross' bill comes from those side-blinded by presumed consent. Considering the success of such driving licence schemes in saving lives worldwide, it would be fair to state that opponents to the Bill have opted out of rational thought.
