No need to argue with LGBT figures

In reply to Dr Stephen Moreton (Write Back, February 3), the Government's Office for National Statistics carried out a survey of more than 178,000 people - huge by any standards - and found 1.5% identified themselves as LGBT.

Actually, many would find it easier to be asked such a question by a stranger than an acquaintance, so I don't think that is a valid reason for disagreeing with the facts.

It is a far cry from the deeply flawed and discredited Kinsey statistics, which have been quoted so often by those who want us to think the percentage is much higher.
