North Belfast in need of vision, not tribal spats

The opening blows have been traded in the election campaign in north Belfast and they have set a blatantly sectarian and tribal tone.

The real choices in the forthcoming election will be between those who have a vision for a better north Belfast, a goal of full employment, properly funded public services, integrated education and an end to sectarianism and those parties that have signed up to cuts of more than 20,000 jobs, a reduced quality of life for our most vulnerable citizens and the sell-off of public assets like Belfast Port, the MoT service and Northern Ireland Water.

What we need for north Belfast is a programme of investment, development and job-creation. What we do not need are tribal chiefs.
