Nothing but praise for top class A&E service

We regularly hear complaints in relation to waiting times at our hospital emergency departments. I wish to share my experience having had the misfortune to be one of this weekend's DIY casualties.

On Friday I clumsily fell and gashed my arm and following some home first aid went to Antrim Area Hospital A&E. Well, dear reader, from arrival at reception, triage treatment, a few steristrips and bandages later and I was out again in 29 minutes and on my way home.

This in my view is a gold standard service delivered by caring professionals who are the envy of the world. I had the pleasure of being treated by two nurses, Beth and Claire, who were thorough and efficient with an added touch of humour and banter.

As I write this they are still on shift, no doubt providing further first class care. Thank you ladies.

Grateful patient
