Obstacles to integration

Cut the Costs' (Write Back, May 19) misses the point of integrated education.

It exists because parents believe children can evolve in an environment where they can receive a good education and understand the way of life led by others from different backgrounds.

However, this will not be achieved by the continued domination of the Roman Catholic Church in the Controlled sector.

If the Controlled system and Irish language schools were replaced by the existing state-run education system we would have a truly integrated education.

But this will never happen while the Roman Catholic Church maintains its imperialist attitude and Sinn Fein its surreptitious greening of the north.
