Only truth can heal our hurt

In extending a cead mile failte to the Queen on her state visit to Ireland, the Reform Group's Robin Bury (Write Back, May 19) suggests we should put past hurts, real or imagined, behind us.

I'm not sure what he means by this, but real hurts - like the Dublin and Monaghan bombings - require more than soundbites.

Perhaps the Reform Group might to urge the British Government to release the files withheld from Mr Justice Henry Barron's inquiries into these bombings.

A gesture of such magnitude would display the goodwill which Mr Bury believes the Queen has for Ireland and her people.
