Our absentee MLAs shamed once again

It was heartening to learn of the different groups and individuals all offering spontaneous support and shelter in advance for potential victims of Storm Ophelia.

It was back to reality, however, when, in comparison to other governments throughout the land being briefed by multi-agency contingency bodies, Northern Ireland hadn't got one to be briefed, because of this really urgent priority of the Irish language.

What else has to happen to this province to emphasise the shameful stubbornness of a small group of people?

The issues being used as barriers should be discussed, debated and voted on democratically within a formed government.

If our MLAs aren't capable of representing the wishes of the people, then it is time for the people themselves to give their own verdict in a referendum about said issues.
