Our housing is envy of world

It would be worthwhile for those thinking of changing the housing set-up in Northern Ireland to look around for slums (News, January 10). They will see there are very few compared to any other city in the British Isles.

This was because of the housing trust, set up by the Government to provide homes for the workers. They went on to redevelop slum areas in Belfast and most other towns in Northern Ireland.

If the Housing Executive is in need of funds for repairs, let them look at senior staffing levels.

What we have here is the envy of other governments the world over. Let's hold on to it.
