Play all anthems at rugby games

The letter from Andrew McKeever (Write Back, October 13) is something I myself, as a rugby fan, can concur with.

His response to the letter from Randal McDonnell (Write Back, October 7) is correct: A Soldier's Song is the anthem of one country on this island and the unionist population in Northern Ireland cannot relate to it in the context of the Ireland rugby team.

To help facilitate both countries on the island, rename the team Ireland and Northern Ireland, play both anthems, fly both flags and then the populations of both nations will be able to support the team without any resentment from both traditions, with each national anthem played and flag displayed. Problem solved.
