Players shouldn't choose Republic

Another young player who has come through the ranks has chosen the Republic over our wee country (Sport, August 9).

We again see someone turn their back on the IFA which has spent money in coaching and developing them.

They have turned their back on the majority of Northern Ireland people and have taken all that the British taxpayer has given them.

Northern Ireland want people who are committed to the cause.

If they do not want to play for Northern Ireland, they should not play for anybody.

Did all the people who voted for the Belfast Agreement realise that they would end up sacrificing their Northern Irish identity?
