Poll results are encouraging

The poll in your paper (March 15) about identity and views on a united Ireland provides a very interesting snapshot of attitudes.

It is significant that one in four from the Protestant community thinks there will be a united Ireland by 2021 and there is a significant move away from the British identity. I personally find those results encouraging.

I see a generation evolving that will listen to, debate and exchange views on uniting Ireland in a nation fit for the 21st century and in which everyone is equal.
