Poor dolphins need your help

Watching the UTV news recently I saw film footage of groups of dolphins starting to visit our shores. People were out in boats and the dolphins were swimming and playing alongside.

By coincidence I had just received an email from a friend showing photographs of dolphins and whales being brutally killed in the Faroe Islands. I just could not comprehend what I saw — how could anyone want to kill dolphins?

Apparently each year large numbers of dolphins and small whales visit a particular bay on those islands just to be friendly. The young men go down and brutally murder the poor creatures, beating them to death with hooks while they scream for mercy.

It is supposed to be some ritual to prove virility. It is one of the saddest things I have been shown. These people should be ashamed.

These poor creatures need help.
