Poor showing by Sinn Fein

It was disappointing not to see Martin McGuinness and his ministerial colleagues in Sinn Fein turn out to vote for the SDLP motion of censure concerning Nelson McCausland's recent behaviour.

Sinn Fein has failed to hold unionists to account on many issues, but not turning up on this matter was a step too far.

Sinn Fein, in reality, was forced by public opinion finally to support the SDLP motion, but in the usual fashion tried to ride two horses by keeping its top team away from the event.

What if the electorate of Mid-Ulster said, yes, we support Sinn Fein, but then didn't turn out to vote? It's time for some real leadership.
