Protesters are truly salt of the earth
The flag protesters are truly the salt that hasn't lost its flavour.
The vote that changed the flying of the Union flag on Belfast City Hall was democratic, but was it just? A casual observer - especially a republican - would not appreciate the broader implication in British law of their vote. The street protesters might not be able to articulate the injustice perpetrated, but their innate British soul cries out in protest nonetheless. "But if salt loses its taste ... it is good for nothing and can only be thrown out and trampled under people's feet." (Matt 5:13)
