Pull the plug on the EU gravy train

Many readers will be confused and puzzled over the arguments concerning the impending EU referendum. The politicians themselves only make it worse.

When the UK joined in 1973, it was a Common Market - pure and simple.

Since then, the whole set-up has evolved into a federal European monetary and political union. This is not what the UK joined at all.

In 1999, the entire EU Commission, under Jacques Santer, was forced to resign over fraud and corruption exposed by an enlightened whistleblower.

It is high time the plug was pulled out of the EU gravy train.
