Rolling back the years for a school memoir

I WAS born in Belfast in 1939 and am attempting to write a memoir of those years - particularly my time at Mountpottinger Elementary School.

I am particularly interested in certain teachers who had a very definite influence upon me - Mr Watson (headmaster), Mr Finley, Mr Donald (familiarly known as 'Duck'), and probably the most popular teachers at that time, Miss Kane, Miss Stitt and my first teacher in 'babies', Miss Francie.

These are the teachers who will forever live in my memories. If any of your readers remember any teachers that I have overlooked, please remind me.

I would like to hear any special memories of any of these particular teachers as they are the ones who loom largest in my memory.

You can email me at

I will try to respond to all e-mails I receive.
