Rory is a true superstar from little Norn Iron

Well done, Rory McIlroy. Although you didn't win at Augusta in the Masters, you were superb for 63 holes and led the field with the world's best golfers behind you on the leaderboard for three-and-a-half days.

Sometimes it's more difficult to be in the lead for so long and maintain momentum to the finish. In Rory's case, emotion triumphed over momentum and a little bit of bad luck (at the 10th) turned the game in favour of the chasing pack.

Rory, you showed all the best attributes of a true sportsman in your conduct, demeanour and humility on and off the golf course.

Your family, friends and the Northern Ireland sporting public should be proud of your achievements to date - with many more great golfing moments to savour in your future career.

Well done, young man - yet another sporting superstar from little old Norn Ireland.
