Ruane is taking a backwards step in policy

I read with interest the story in the papers about plans for Britain's first grammar school for 50 years.

Bradbourne School in Sevenoaks, Kent will meet the needs of those children who are academically-minded passing the 11-plus to achieve a better overall secondary-level education.

This is in line with the criteria for funding a grammar school, subject to demand as set out by Michael Gove, the Secretary of State for Education.

Is our Stormont Education Minister, Caitriona Ruane, not a bit out of kilter and selfish in her retrograde and ideological steps?

Come on. Wake up and smell the coffee.
