Savita's death due to toxic fanaticism

Why should somebody in the prime of her life die because of a foetus that is not going to survive (News, November 15)?

The abortion issue in the Republic has been dominated by dangerous fundamentalists who are nothing but fanatics engaged in a self-righteous campaign.

The case of Savita Halappanavar dying because medical staff failed to act shows up the Republic for what it is - a Catholic theocracy devoid of freedom and bonded to fundamentalism.
