Sex book is too much, too soon
Jane Graham (March 11) asks why Christian groups are obsessed with sex. What are the media obsessed with? Surely Christians have the right to put their point of view? The booklet she mentions is already being used by 16 councils in England and many parents are unaware of the contents.
Why on earth should five-year-olds be exposed to information they are too young to cope with?
Jane also believes this will not result in more experimentation by children? Is she in the real world? She also thinks there is no evidence that sex education in primary schools will become mandatory. Does she not know that Nick Clegg wants this very thing? And how can parents be sure they will retain the right to withdraw their children?
All this is entirely different from children having the facts of life explained to them by their parents as and when they are ready.
