Shops should close on Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday 2018 falls exactly on November 11 (Armistice Day) and exactly 100 years since the guns fell silent in the fields where the poppies grew.

Retail closure on Remembrance Sunday 2018 will enhance of the qualities of peace and decorum and enable more working people - regardless of background, or community - to be able to take part in the Remembrance Sunday events.

Northern Ireland MPs may care to unite across party and community lines and put forward a Private Member's Bill to provide for retail closure on Remembrance Sunday 2018 within the United Kingdom.
