Mitchel McLaughlin's article (Belfast Telegraph, December 7) has quotes about a "vibrant dynamic all-Ireland", "full employment" etc.
I don't know where he has escaped from but it is time the men in white coats had him rounded up. The south of Ireland is living out of the European begging bowl to the tune of billions of euro which the United Kingdom has contributed to, and also a further £7bn which we, the British, gave them as a bit extra.
Joining into a united Ireland would be akin to jumping without life jackets aboard a ship that was holed beneath the waterline and would take decades to salvage.
So Mitchel, with your magnificent intellect, go and live in southern Ireland and give them the benefit of your vast knowledge, that's if the south would have you.
