Statistics on rate of homosexuality
In your article featuring a lesbian girl (Life, March 1) you state that, according to research conducted by HM Treasury, 5%-7% of people in the UK identify themselves as gay.
By contrast, the Government's own Office for National Statistics did a survey of 250,000 people last year, with responses from over 216,000, which is by any standards a large survey, and found that less than 2% identified themselves as gay.
Quite a difference.
