Stormont a dysfunctional government

THERE appears to be something morally wrong in the way Northern Ireland is governed.

An education body that doesn't educate can cost £16.5m, fire chiefs are not being held accountable and an inquiry into a terrorist explosion is halted for an unknown reason (so unknown that everyone knows why it was stopped).

Why is nobody screaming from the rooftops? Why are committees at Westminster not calling foul?

Maybe it's a case that public bodies in Northern Ireland are so inefficient? Is it a western economy? Or some mid-African country run as a despotic regime?

Northern Ireland, sadly, appears to be the latter.
