The church can help with debt
In response to your article on women dealing with debt (News, January 24), I wish to highlight how local churches are responding to the problems of debt.
Seven different churches - three within Belfast alone - offer a free debt-counselling service in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
We're happy to take the scary letters away and deal with them, get those threatening phonecalls and visits to stop and look after people until they are debt-free.
The service is free and available to everyone - regardless of faith or background.
I would urge anyone in financial difficulty in the Belfast area to contact CAP on our freephone number: (0800) 328 0006.
