This new dark age is a disgrace

Could someone explain to me why so many street-lamps are not lit? Some parts of Northern Ireland are like Whitechapel at the time of Jack the Ripper.

I am waiting to see the old lamplighter going around as he did when I was a boy nearly 90 years ago.

I think of all the money spent on sport pitches, refurbishing old shops, etc and yet Northern Ireland at night, in some areas, cannot get street-lamps.
