To beatify Pope will insult saints
The planned beatification of the late Pope John Paul II both insults and casts doubt over the 'holiness' of all others declared saints.
As a Christian leader, what is there about his life to inspire us?
Pope John Paul II was excellent at world politics and keeping up a veneer of a Christian Church, yet he failed to recognise and expose the evil of notorious abusers in the Church. He also misused his power to ban conversation about women priests. The Church today is the direct result of his actions and inaction in a long papacy.
If beatified, what does that say about those who went before him?
