Toothless media lacks any bite

Having been part of the media in Northern Ireland for many years, I know what I'm talking about when I say that it has light years to travel to reach the standards of the rest of the UK.

Our very tight knit media world here is really about who you know, not what you know. Maybe if this could change it would be a start. Talent is continually turned away in favour of some associate, friend, or fellow back-scratcher.

We need to get people in charge of our media who are not afraid to ruffle a few feathers and who have the courage to make changes.
