I am mystified at the decision by the Tourist Board and also by the Tourism Minister to cease funding for the Milk Cup and Foyle Cup.
I had always thought that the main object of the Tourist Board was to encourage tourists to come to Northern Ireland and this is exactly what these two football tournaments do.
Do they think that no tourists will come to London during Olympic fortnight next year?
It is just typical of an organisation that sees these tournaments as being working-class events.
I am sure if it had have been some middle-class flower festival they would have found the funding.
What ideas do the Tourist Board and Tourism Minister have for attracting visitors from up to 50 different countries to Northern Ireland?
