Truth dawning on more people

I never cease to be amazed at the myopia of some of our political observers.

Your recent debate about the future of non tribal politics brought the following gem from a former local Conservative office bearer. I paraphrase: “We need a party which focuses on policies and bread and butter issues, in order to make real progress and to reduce sectarianism.”

What does he think we in the Alliance Party have been doing for 40 years? We have saved the Executive three times from sectarian implosion and were first to evaluate the cost of sectarianism.

We alone made the progressive changes for inclusivity in Belfast council, along with many other decisions which would normally have been totally sectarian.

Our party supporters have taken abuse when doing what was right. This is slowly dawning on more people in Northern Ireland.
