UK being blackmailed in Brexit negotiations

Last Thursday, during BBC Question Time in Belfast, one of the panel, Jonathan Lynn, stated that President de Gaulle of France wanted to unite Europe in the hope of preventing future European wars.

However, when the UK applied to join the EEC in the 1960s, de Gaulle, using the veto, turned down our application twice - much to my pleasure, as I didn't want to be part of a United States of Europe.

He was ably supported by the other countries of the EEC who now don't want the UK to leave, as they all have their snouts in the European begging bowl we keep topping up.

Now, during the Brexit talks, this European negotiator Barnier is blackmailing the UK by telling us: give us the money before we continue talking.

I would say to Theresa May: pull out of these negotiations immediately and sever all EU connections.

If Margaret Thatcher was alive today, she would have told them where to go.
