Unionism needs unity to progress

I do not agree with your editorial comment (May 11) that unionist unity would be a backward step.

Progressive politics is best achieved through political consolidation. Schisms create the politics of fear, confrontation, and envy.I have often read sentiments in your editorials stating that we should focus on what unite people, rather than what divides them. Strong, united unionism, committed to power-sharing devolution, is necessary for Northern Ireland to move forward.
