Unity through sport? Don't turn to GAA

Henry McDonald, in his article about Manchester City's triumph (Comment, May 15), shows how people from differing opinions and attitudes can be brought together.

This is true for sports such as rugby and football. However, the inclusion of the Ulster Championship and the sport of GAA in Mr McDonald's article shows his naivety. The GAA is not a force to bring people together through sport. It is a divisive political organisation, which honours republicans who, through their actions, brought misery to others.
