Urgent plea to save Niger’s tragic children
Thissummer, all eyes were on South Africa as the World Cup took place on African soil for the first time.
Yet 5,000 kilometres further north, Niger goes relatively unnoticed while experiencing the worst food shortage in five years.
Seven million people do not have enough food. Charities such as Save the Children are concerned for the welfare of children in Niger and are working tirelessly to reach as many as possible. Nearly half a million children under five are acutely malnourished.
Just £1.25 can pay for therapeutic milk for one day for a severely malnourished child and £50 can support and treat a child with severe malnutrition.
The more money we can raise the more children can be saved.
