I am probably not the only Christian who has been deeply troubled by the recent row over use of language in the public square.
One of our problems in Northern Ireland is that, at one moment, we can stand up for Christian principles with our words, and the next moment we can be disrespectful to others with our words.
This difference between our professed belief and our public behaviour is obvious for all to see.
This brings the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ into disrepute. We need, by God's grace, to practise what we preach.
When we do that, who knows what other new doors of opportunity may open up for the common good?
