Wealth and influence can easily be abused
The exposure of the famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein as a long-time sexual predator of young women aspiring to be actresses proves that the cherished American dream of wealth and success doesn't mean that the people who gain such attributes are always good people. Indeed, they can be very bad people.
US President Donald Trump, who on his presidential campaign trail boasted to all and sundry that he was "really, really rich", and actress Meryl Streep, who once also spoke of HarveyWeinstein as a "god", should both take note at the recent revelations.
The main lesson to be learnt from recent days is probably that the more a person is smart and rich, the more the door of temptation opens to him, or her, to increasingly hurt and make fools of other, unsuspecting people.
