Were B&B gays just trying to save money?
While I would agree with B&B owners Peter and Hazel Bull in abhorring homosexual relations, unlike them, or your correspondent Alexander Redpath (Write Back, January 19), I would not have assumed that the performance of such on their premises was the purpose of the two gentlemen.
It was not made clear whether all their double rooms had double beds, but I would have assumed that they were sharing the room in order to avoid the extra that most hotels charge for single occupancy.
Of course, if at their hotel, twin beds were available and there was no such surcharge, they might have had some reason for a conscientious objection - otherwise 'honi soit qui mal y pense'.
