West's fight to gain oil reserves
When the Syrian uprising began, there were deaths, but the military was reluctant to kill peaceful civilians.
Then the West flooded the country with weapons, the opposition became heavily armed and, as a result, the crackdown has become increasingly bloody.
The West has been continuously trying to pick a fight with Iran and it's no coincidence that Syria (and Lebanon) are allies of Iran.
It's another way to remove the last major obstacle to Israel and America's dominance of the Middle East and its oil reserves.
