When the 'N' in NI should be an 'n'

Eoghan Harris insists (Comment, August 5) that it's offensive to refer to a part of my country as "the north" or "the north of Ireland".

I live in northern Ireland, (note small 'n' in 'northern') - Co Donegal in fact. And he's quite correct: that area should only be referred to, politically, as 'the six counties'.
