Will students of today unleash a plague on us?

Recently a friend asked me to check on her flat as she works abroad. The flat is let to two male students.

I expected to find a degree of untidiness, but not what I found. Dirty dishes with some food on them were piled up in the sink, worktops and the table.

Mould had grown on some of the cups and plates. Biscuits, crisps, part bottles of coke, and other food were in bedrooms and lounge. These young people are at university (at taxpayers' expense) training to become teachers, nurses or social workers.

Are these the sort of young people who will be in charge of our health and environment?

If this is the case, how soon until we have another plague?
