With support our schools 'can do better'

I am writing in response to the article about Dunmurry High School concerning the recent inspection report it received.

I have two children at the school and both of them have settled in very well. One is in year eight and the other in year nine.

My son, who is in year eight, had some difficulties settling in to primary school and he also has some educational needs.

Dunmurry High has helped him enormously. He has grown in confidence and his schoolwork has come on leaps and bounds.

This is thanks to the teachers, who have taken their time to help my son and make him feel at ease.

I know that there are issues in the school and I have been assured that changes are being made.

I have every confidence in the school and I think the pupils and the local community should support it so that it can become a better place for everyone.
