World Cup idea doesn't add up
IT is interesting to note Michel Platini's comments about expanding the football World Cup to 40 teams and his belief that to do this the competition would only need to be extended by three days.
Presumably his suggestion is to change the tournament from eight groups of four to eight groups of five. However, a four-team group has six matches and a five-team group has 10 matches. As there are eight groups this will mean an extra 32 matches. How exactly does monsieur Platini expect to fit 32 matches in to just three extra days?
