Minister Hugo Swire can often be relied on for an amusing line and he provided one in a debate about the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly.

Praising the British-Irish relations fostered by the organisation, he recalled drinking "a fair few" during a meeting in Cork. "I would not seek to emulate the record of ... the Member for Richmond,'' he told MPs, gently poking fun at Foreign Secretary William '14 pints' Hague.
