London Notebook: Ulster omitted in BBC motion

Welsh nationalists have complained they are being short-changed by the BBC.

Scottish viewers get Newsnight Scotland four nights a week, with tailored reporting on politics at Westminster, the Scottish Parliament and local government. In a parliamentary motion, Plaid Cymru MPs demand Welsh viewers "are treated with the same dignity and respect as Scottish citizens".

No Celtic unity is on display, sadly: the motion does not mention Northern Ireland, bad news for Belfast's budding Paxmans.
