Ryder Cup victory shows unpredictability of sport
Some people may say that golf is only a game, but for millions it is a way of life, and the Ryder Cup is one of the greatest events in sport.
The best players from the USA and Europe pit themselves against each other in this fierce contest every two years, and people around the world hang on every golf stroke. The European team, in which our own Rory McIlroy played an important part, were underdogs for the event in Paris, but, against the odds, they won by a considerable margin.
The Europeans have won the bragging rights, but who knows what will happen when they take on the Americans in the USA in two years' time? Anything can happen, and that's the beauty of sport.
