The power of good
Of course the people of Northern Ireland are no strangers to confronting - and overcoming - evil. Seventy years ago this week death rained from the sky when German bombers blitzed Belfast killing more than 900 people. Huge swathes of the city were reduced to rubble as entire streets and entire families were wiped from the face of the earth.
Yet the citizens, with great fortitude and courage, rebuilt their city and went on to play important roles on land, sea and in the air, to defeat Hitler's forces. They showed that the force of good, properly channelled, can be irresistible.
