Three minutes of football: the oddest match ever

Editor's Viewpoint

Last night three minutes of injury time were played in a restarted game between the England and Norway Under 19s international womens' teams.

The first game ended when the referee mistakenly awarded a free kick to Norway after disallowing an English penalty goal.

Apparently she should have had the penalty re-taken, and she was sent home to Germany over the error. This makes penalty rows in the Premiership seem trivial by comparison.

Last night's restart was due to the intervention of Uefa, which is an exclusively male body. And people claim that women are irrational.
