Chirpy, cheerful and cheeky, with a singing talent to match the personality, Bellaghy 23-year-old Brooke Scullion is banking on the spirit of Derry Girls to help her win through to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Thursday night.
nd she needs the votes to pile in if she’s to take Ireland onto the big stage with her self-penned song That’s Rich for the final next Saturday night.
Though she may be over 1,000 miles from home ahead of the contest in Turin, Brooke is never too far from her roots - and she’s tuning up for her performance by catching up on the other Derry Girls who the nation’s talking about by downloading the latest series of the hit TV comedy.
“I’m hoping I’ll be able to bring that Derry pride to life on stage and trust the people back home will vote to get me to the big stage on Saturday. I’m doing this for the Derry Girls everywhere!”
